One of the best ways to experience Lake Como is by boat.
You can take a private boat tour, rent a small boat, or use the public ferry to visit the towns around the

Funicular to Brunate

Go hiking with a view

The mountains around the lake offer incredible hiking trails.
One of the most famous routes is the Greenway del Lago di Como, a scenic walk through small villages
and olive groves.
The Greenway is a well-marked walking trail of about 10 km (6 miles) that runs along the western
shore of the lake, connecting Colonno in the north to Cadenabbia in the south. It’s perfect for tourists
who want to combine nature, history, and local culture in a single walk.
Duration:
About 3–4 hours at a leisurely pace, but you can split it into sections.
Easy to moderate difficulty; mostly paved or well-maintained paths.

In Morcote itself, don’t miss the stunning lakeside village atmosphere and the famous Parco Scherrer, a botanical park with terraces, sculptures, and panoramic views over Lake Lugano.

Please note that if you plan to drive into Switzerland with a rental car, a valid Swiss motorway vignette (highway toll sticker) is required. This is usually included with rental vehicles, but we recommend confirming with your provider.
